The Golden Container

A man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box


عاقب رجلٌ ابنته ذات الثلاثة أعوام لأنها اتلفت لفافة من ورق التغليف الذهبية. فقد كان المال شحيحاً و استشاط غضباً حين رأى الطفلة تحاول أن تزين إحدى العلب بهذه اللفافة لتكون على شكل هدية.

Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father while he sat drinking his morning coffee, and said, "This is for you, Daddy." x
على الرغم من ذلك , أحضرت الطفلةُ الهديةَ لأبيها بينما هو جالس يشرب قهوة الصباح, وقالت له: " هذه لك, يا أبتِ!! "

He was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he opened the box found that the box was empty. He yelled at her again,"Don't you know when you give someone a present, there's supposed to be something inside it" x

أصابه الخجل من ردة فعله السابقة, ولكنه استشاط غضباً ثانية عندما فتح العلبة و اكتشف أن العلبة فارغة. ثم صرخ في وجهها مرة أخرى قائلاً " ألا تعلمين أنه حينما تهدين شخصا هدية, يفترض أن يكون بداخلها شئ ما؟"

And he threw the box in the trash and buried his face in his hands .The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said, "Oh, Daddy it's not empty, I blew lots kisses into the box. All for you, Daddy."x

ثم ما كان منه إلا أن رمى بالعلبة في سلة المهملات و دفن وجهه بيديه في حزن. عندها ,نظرت البنت الصغيرة إليه و عيناها تدمعان و قالت " يا أبي إنها ليست فارغة, لقد وضعت الكثير من القُبَل بداخل العلبة. وكانت كل القبل لك يا أبي "

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness. She hugged him back and covered his face with kisses. He gently took the box out of the trash and together they smoothed out the gold paper

تحطم قلب الأب عند سماع ذلك. و راح يلف ذراعيه حول فتاته الصغيرة, و توسل لها أن تسامحه. فضمته إليها و غطت وجهه بالقبل. ثم أخذ العلبة بلطف من بين النفايات وراحا يصلحان ما تلف من ورق الغلاف المذهب

He pretended to take kisses out of the box while his daughter laughed and clapped her hands with glee. The two of them had a lot of fun together that day. The father promised himself that he would work harder to maintain a good relationship with his daughter, and he did

وبدأ الأب يتظاهر بأخذ بعض القبلات من العلبة فيما ابنته تضحك و تصفق وهي في قمة الفرح. استمتع كلاهما بالكثير من اللهو ذلك اليوم. و أخذ الأب عهداً على نفسه أن يبذل المزيد من الجهد للحفاظ على علاقة جيدة بابنته, وقد فعل

Father and daughter grew very close as the years went by. Then, a horrible accident took the life of the child ten years later and it is told that the man, who had kept that gold box all those years, took it out and put it on the table by his bed

ازداد الأب و ابنته قرباً من بعضهما مع مرور الأعوام. ثم خطف حادثٌ مأساوي حياة الطفلة بعد مرور عشر سنوات. وقد قيل أن ذلك الأب, وقد حفظ تلك العلبة الذهبية كل تلك السنوات, قد أخرج العلبة و وضعها على طاولة قرب سريره

Whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the unconditional love of his child who had put it there

وكان كلما شعر بالإحباط, كان يأخذ من تلك العلبة قبلة خيالية و يتذكر ذلك الحب غير المشروط من ابنته التي وضعت تلك القبل هناك

Each of us as humans, have been given a gold Container filled with unconditional love and kisses from our children,friends and family. There is no more precious possession anyone could hold

كل واحد منا كبشر, قد أعطي وعاءاً ذهبياً قد مُلأ بحبٍ غير مشروط من أبناءنا و أصدقائنا و أهلنا. وما من شئ أثمن من ذلك يمكن أن يملكه أي إنسان
